MY HISTORY WITH THE
CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND

My sister, Camille and I saw the Chocolate Watchband for the first time in 1967 at the Bold Knight in Sunnyvale.  We were blown away by their performance.  I was immediately attracted to Sean Tolby, a Brian Jones look-a-like.  After the band performed, I made a beeline to Sean and got his phone number and address.  My sister and I attempted to find his house in the Los Gatos hills, but with no luck.  In fact, we almost got killed when the car I was driving got to close to a cliff and went over the edge of the road, hanging there precariously until we got help and were towed out of danger.  I still don't know how my sister and I got out of the car without getting killed.  The next time I was luckier.  I went to Sean's house by myself, and to my amazement, found it.  He lived in a redwood-framed house at the end of a road in the Los Gatos hills.  I remember knocking on Sean's door and when he opened it, I was blown away with his Brian Jones look-a-like appearance.  I couldn't believe I was about to spend the day with this guy!  After that encounter, I would see him when I could or should I say when he could.  He was a busy guy.  I'm sure he had other women on a string as well.  They played lots of gigs so that kept him very busy too.  It wasn't my decision but at some point Sean decided he wanted to move on.  Unfortunately, Sean passed away several years ago.  It would have been great to see him again after all these years but it didn't work out that way.
